Attempting to upgrade from Crosswords Classic to Crosswords Pro

I purchased Crosswords for IOS years ago and it's installed on my iPhone 5S. I also installed Crosswords Pro and when I tap the Upgrade option, it says it will cost $9.99 instead of $3.99. I tapped Buy anyway (hoping the difference would be resolved by the time the billing actually occurred) and nothing else happens. Tapping Upgrade again says "You've already purchased this In-App Purchase but it hasn't been downloaded" I tapped OK but nothing else ever happens.
How to I get the Pro Upgrade to download ??

    What version of Crosswords do you have installed? You might want to try restarting your device; the "You've already purchased this in-app purchase" dialog is an AppStore bug, unfortunately. However, a restart should fix it. If not, you can try deleting and re-downloading from the AppStore.

    Crosswords v2.60. I restarted my 5S but no changes have occurred. I'm also not able to setup my account info, should it be the same as what I used to log into the forum? I used that info but get Invalid password message. Tried resetting it as well all to no avail. I've used and loved your app for years but this is getting very frustrating :-(

    a little more info... I wasn't able to find Crosswords Pro in the App Store, but I did find it via a web search, then clicked the button to open in iTunes. That's where I downloaded the Pro app, then dragged it to my iPhone.

    I deleted the app as you suggested and downloaded it back from the cloud in App Store. Now it seems to be acting as an enabled Pro version but still getting invalid password when setting up my account.

    There's no way to buy Crosswords Pro in the store... you need to download Crosswords, then upgrade to Pro (which you did). Since you had already purchased it, it upgraded automatically. As for your password, is this for your Crosswords account, or a particular provider?

    My primary goal for upgrading was to be able to access the new format CrossSynergy jpz puzzles, but I don't see CrossSynergy listed. Am I missing something? Do you have plans to add jpz support?
    Sorry for all the quizzies, it's just a big change from the old app. Guess I'm starting to fall into "old dog" category, haha

    There are no new providers in Crosswords Pro that aren't in Crosswords Classic, sorry! You can download CrossSynergy puzzles using the puzzle browser in Crosswords Pro and play them, however.

    I forgot, it was called Houston Chronicle. They're now distributed as jpz files.

    You may need to use the "Lost Password" button in the Set Up screen.

    I did that a few times, with the new password filled in, then clicked on the link I received via email and it still doesn't work.
