Using Crossword Pro on iPad Pro in Landscape Mode

I just downloaded Crossword Pro on my iPad Pro (largest model) yesterday. I have been playing Crossword Classic for years. When i go into landscape mode so I can use my iPad case with mechanical keyboard, I lose everything that is shown at the top of the screen in Portrait Mode including the puzzle name and the "gear" symbol. This means I can only access the gear symbol in portrait mode. I have attached a picture of the screen when in landscape mode so you can see what I mean. Am I doing something wrong or is there a problem with the software. Thanks for your help. qikbruce

This is actually an intentional design decision on our part. We wanted to increase the amount of room to see the puzzle when viewing in landscape on the iPad. However, given the amount of space available on the iPad Pro, it may make more sense for us to not hide the navigation bar on those devices. We'll definitely take a look at that.

    Thanks!

    Ben,

Thanks for getting back to me. You were able to keep the navigation bar in Crosswords Classics without effecting the space. I think you should be able to do it in Crosswords Pro. Here is the problem. Because the physical keyboard I use is part of the iPad case, I can only use it in landscape mode. If I want to change something like “show errors” or “don’t show errors” I have to turn the iPad into Portrait mode. Very inconvenient. Plus, the whole puzzle looks incomplete without something like the navigation bar framing it.

Those are my thoughts. Hope you take them into consideration.

    Thanks,

    Bruce

    Bruce,
We took a different approach with Crosswords (vs. Classic), and tried to show more content at the expense of controls. However, I think you make a good case that, at least on the 12.9" Pro, we don't need to make that trade off. The next version of Crosswords will address that. Thanks for your comments; please, keep them coming!
