Various issues related to cell/clue skipping
Under the newest version there seems to an issue with correct cell/clue skipping. I have incorrect letters marked in red turned on. When I use the left and right arrows to move between clues filled clues were skipped and the next non-filled clue was highlighted. This no longer happens, but does happen if you complete a clue (it then does skip to the next unfilled clue). When filling out a clue, if (for instance) there are two letters left to fill, you can correctly fill out the first and incorrectly fill out the second, but then the first, no correct, letter is then highlighted again as if it is not correct (hope that makes sense). Additionally if I highlight a red letter and try to reveal the letter it will not do so until I delete the red letter.
One final thing. When initially opening the app the puzzle list will only appear after puzzles to download or you change the sort order away from and then back to 'Date'

Ian,
We are trying to track this one down; it appears to be happening sporadically for a few users. We have a beta version that may address it; would you be interested in trying it?
Thanks!
Ben

Ian,
Great! You'll receive an invite, and will need to download the (free) Test Flight app from the App Store (https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/testflight/id899247664?mt=8).

Hi Ben
I have installed the beta version, and this seems to solve all the problem I was having within puzzles!
The problem with the list not appearing on first launching the app unless there are crosswords to download or until I move away from and then back to sorting by Date still exists.

Ian,
Great! Glad we fixed the larger issue. For the puzzle list problem, what kind of device are you using, and what version of iOS are you running?
Thanks!
Ben

Sorry Ben
Having used it for a couple of days now I find that, although the list comes up when the app is launched any downloaded puzzles do not appear until I completely close and reopen the app (although the puzzle count at the bottom of the screen updates). Don't know if this is every time as the downloading only happens once a day but will let you know if this is not the case all the time.

Ian,
Hmm, are you referring to puzzles downloaded via pull-to-refresh, or via the in-app browser?
Ben

HI Ben
I sent a further explanation via Testflight.
To confirm, upon opening the app if there are puzzles to automatically download they are downloaded but do not appear on the 'date' sort screen (although they do appear on the others). The total number of puzzles at the bottom of the screen does update. To get the 'date' screen to have the new puzzles in have to completely close the app (with a doubleclick and swipe) and reopen it.
Hope that makes sense.

Ian,
Just so I have this clear: You open the app in the morning and see yesterday's puzzles. You pull-to-refresh, and see puzzles downloading (via the status at the bottom of the screen), but at the end of the download, the contents of the Puzzle list, sorted by date, are unchanged?

Hi Ben
I do not need to pull to update, today's puzzles automatically download. I see them download at the bottom of the screen and the total number of puzzles changes, but the puzzle list remains the same and only updates after a full restart of the app.

Ian,
I think the next version of Crosswords that I put out via Test Flight should address this.
Thanks!

Hi Ben
Yes, it seems to have fixed it. Certainly this morning the downloads happened and the list updated correctly.
