New York Times subscription password stopped working
I've already spent the morning on the phone with NYT support, my password works on their website and my subscription is up to date, I reinstalled Crosswords, I reset the password, but Crosswords is no longer downloading NYT for me and when I go in to set up or log into my NYT account through the Puzzle Providers it says Authentication Denied.

Sorry to hear you're having trouble! What version of Crosswords are you using, and on what device with what version of the OS?
Thanks!
Ben

I just reinstalled this morning so I have version 2.3.9.0
I'm on a Kindle Fire, I'm looking in the settings but I don't see where
they give the OS

I am having the above issue again. My NYT crosswords are not downloading. When I go into puzzle providers and input my email and NYT password it says Authentication Failed. But if I go into Setup the NYT confirms my subscription.

Here is a photo to be clear. When I click the Setup tab I'm taken to a NYT subscription, page where I click on Subscriber Login, and it picks up the password I've already entered under Stand Alone's Autentication tab and confirms that I have a subscription. But the Authentication tab is telling me my authentication has failed.

Kate,
The New York Times has changed their policies regarding third party clients. We're working on a work around. You can try opening the puzzle via your web browser for now. Sorry!

Well it worked yesterday. Did they just change their policy today?
Support Staff 8 Posted by ben on 03 Jun, 2017 01:43 PM
No, but their lawyers requested that we adhere to it, and that was implemented yesterday.

Oh, okay. Thanks. (I also have the NYT crossword tablet app that I can use
for the time being, but it lacks several of the Stand Alone features and is
just not as good an interface.)
