Compatibility with iOS 13.1.1
I just upgraded the software on my iPad to iOS13.1.1 and all of a sudden, the Crossword app does not interface with The NY Times crossword site. Prior to the upgrade, a link allowing me to open a puzzle in Crossword would appear. Now there is no option to transfer to either Crossword or Across Lite. I am not sure whether the problem is with the NY TImes website or with Crossword. Any advice?

Why Can't I Download NY Times Puzzles?
See more..Unfortunately the NY Times has requested that we remove authenticated access to their puzzles from our apps, and we're in the process of removing them from our provider lists. While we regret this recent development, you can still play their daily puzzle in our iOS and macOS apps by following the instructions provided below:

Doug,
iOS 13 changed the way websites allow you to download files. You should be able to download NYT puzzles to your iCloud Drive, then import them from inside Crosswords. Not ideal, but at least serviceable. We're looking into ways to improve this.

I can’t figure out how to do this. I believe that I have downloaded puzzle files onto my iCloud Drive but when I go into Crosswords, I can’t see how to proceed.

Doug,
You'll want to go into Crosswords, select More…, and then "Open File…". That will bring up the iCloud file picker, and your puzzles should be in there (in Downloads).

I can’t find a “more” tab. I have tried a + tab bit that doesn’t do it. Is there a way I could call you at some point and have you walk me through it?

Doug,
Sorry, I should have asked this first: what version of Crosswords are you running?

Doug,
It depends on whether you've got Crosswords or Crosswords classic.

I actually had the classics version. I downloaded the other crosswords and got to downloaded files in the iCloud Drive. It they all appear grayed out and I can’t load them.

Doug,
Hmm. Here's what I see. You have the same icons, but they're grayed out?

Doug,
We've submitted an update to Apple, which should allow you to download to your iCloud Drive, and then you can import from within Crosswords. If you're still encountering issues with importing, please reply to this email!
