Hi Ben,

It's worse than recurring, it happens every single time. Hence I
can't
"Send Feedback" because I can't reach that part of the
application.

I do know how to use iPhone Backup Extractor, though, and I
found the
com.standalone.crosswords.plist file, which I've attached. I
didn't
find the actual database file. Can I find it in my backup? I'm
not
jailbroken.

I'm pretty much resigned to uninstalling the app and
reinstalling. But
I would like to help you prevent the same crash for other
users.

futzletag:standalone.tenderapp.com,2010-01-29:Comment/88625352011-07-26T12:20:12Z2011-07-26T12:20:12ZCrosswords iPad crash on startup (repost)

Ugh, that's problematic. If you can locate "Crosswords.db" in
the com.standalone.crosswords package using Backup Extractor,
that's the puzzle database. Thanks for the assistance!

Found it. (On every other machine I alias 'ls' to 'ls -a', but
not this
one, so it wasn't finding the directory starting with dot.)
Documents/.Files/Crosswords.db attached. It seems to open in
sqlite3.

is causing all the trouble. It's somehow got a corrupt link to a
date record. Not sure how that happened, and it doesn't appear that
there's anything we can do about it.

We're adding a new feature to the next version of Crosswords
that will make it easy for you to replace your puzzle database (so,
if this problem happens again, you can email us your database,
we'll fix it, and mail it back to you.) Sorry for the trouble, but
thanks very much for following up and helping us track this
down.

uninstall-and-reinstall. I only had a couple of puzzles in
progress,
fortunately.

futzle
